The satellites trigger meter transceivers to transmit energy-use data to be downloaded to master contact sites.

For a cable television operator, W. L. Pritchard & Co., L.C. designed more than 20 multichannel, multipoint wireless cable systems throughout the United States. The client was among the first to supplement such channels with low-power television station channels, matching the coverage contours to ensure reception of all available channels by all subscribers. The company effort included location of available frequencies, selection of optimal coverage areas from demographic studies, interference analyses, and system design. Where an existing system was suitable, the company provided assistance for purchase arrangements.
